Nick Bodin is a Life Member of the Alpha Theta chapter at North Dakota State University. As an active member, he held positions in his chapter such as Apparel Committee Chair, Ways and Means Committee Chair, as well as Treasurer. Nick graduated with a B. S. degree in Instrumental Music Education and a minor in Vocal Music Education from NDSU. After graduation, Nick was selected to be on the 2021 – 2023 Music Education and Musicianship Committee as well as the 2023 Grace and A. Frank Leadership Award Committee.
Harrison Calvert is a Life Member of the Alpha Chapter at Oklahoma State University. While an active member, they served as the chapter treasurer, social chair and historian. While at Oklahoma State, they played Mellophone in the marching band, french horn in the concert band and horn choir, and trumpet in the basketball band. They have a bachelor in Computer Science from Oklahoma State.
Harrison currently lives in Oklahoma and works as a software engineer developing avionics equipment. He enjoys spending time with his wife Madison, who he met in TBS.
Olivia DeFilippo is a Life Member of the Gamma Kappa Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at the University of Connecticut and was initiated in April of 2013. During her time at UConn, Olivia played mallet percussion and was Front Ensemble section leader in the UConn Marching Band. As an Active member, Olivia served as Membership Chair (2014-15), Vice President of Membership (2015-16), and Chapter President (2016-17), and eventually served as Northeast District President (2017-18). More recently, Olivia has served as the Northeast District Alumni Association Vice President for TBSigma (2020-21) and President (2021-22). In alignment with Olivia’s passion for social justice and change, she completed her BA with a major in Anthropology and a dual minor in Criminal Justice and Human Rights from UConn. In 2021, Olivia earned a Masters of Social Work from UConn, and became licensed shortly after. Even before graduating in 2017, Olivia has devoted her time to the movements to end sexual and domestic violence, and she now works as a court-based Family Violence Victim Advocate through the Center for Family Justice in the Superior Court of Bridgeport, CT. In her spare time, Olivia can be found hanging out with her puppy (Otis), always decorating for Christmas, and teaching mallet percussion for the Mark T. Sheehan High School Marching Band in her hometown of Wallingford, CT.
Lauren was initiated into the Theta Lambda Chapter at Auburn University in Spring of 2012 where she was a piccolo player in the Auburn University Marching Band (War Eagle!). As active member, Lauren served as chapter Corresponding Secretary and chapter President as well as Piccolo Section Leader for the AUMB. Lauren also served on the district level as Southeast District President (2015-2017). Lauren graduated with a degree in Supply Chain Management and then moved to Atlanta, GA where she is Segment Operations Manager for Georgia-Pacific.
She is a Life Member of Theta Lambda and an honorary member of the Iota Psi chapter at Kennesaw State University and Southeast District. As an alumni, Lauren has served on the SEDAA board and various National Committees.
Lauren spends her free time binge-watching Netflix, exploring new restaurants in Atlanta, and visiting Disney World every chance she gets.
Mia Grant (she/they) is a Life Member of the Theta Mu chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. She also has a master’s degree in International Human Rights with a certificate in Global Environmental Change and Adaption from the University of Denver. She currently works at Petsmart and lives in Aurora, Colorado with her turtle, Thomas. During her free time, she enjoys hiking, baking, and reading.
Tyler Hern is a Life Member of the Beta Nu Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, AR. While at ATU, Tyler served as the chapter Properties Manager, Treasurer, and two terms as President. In the Band of Distinction, Tyler served as the Marching Saxophone Section Leader for two years. Tyler was an Honors Graduate from ATU with a Bachelor of Music Education in 2021. During his time as an active member, Tyler also served the Southwest District as District Secretary/Treasurer in 2019-2020 and continued to serve two terms as the Southwest District President from 2020-2022. After graduating, he became a member of the Tau Beta Sigma Alumni Association and the Southwest District Alumni Association.
Tyler now lives in Russellville, Arkansas and works as the Chemistry and Environmental Science Teacher at Dover High School. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family and friends, assist with private lessons, and take care of his cat (Khaleesi) and his bearded dragon (Smog).
Brooke Magstadt is a Life Member of the Theta Mu chapter at the University of Nebraska at Kearney where she was in the Color Guard of the Pride of the Plains Marching Band. She was initiated in 2018. During her active years, Brooke held numerous chapter roles including Vice President, Historian, and Focus on Five liaison. She then served on the Midwest District Council for two years. First as the District Vice President of Special Projects (2020-2021) and then as the District President (2021-2022). Brooke graduated in December 2021 with her Bachelor of Arts in Education K-6 and Early Childhood Inclusive.
In her professional career, Brooke teaches Middle School Title 1. She strives to make her students feel loved and welcomed every single day. Outside of work, Brooke enjoys traveling, cleaning, and going on walks. She resides in the small town of Newman Grove, NE with her husband, four cats, and two dogs.
Brian is a Life Member of the Iota Alpha Chapter at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. They were initiated in the Spring of 2015 and became Chapter Sponsor in Spring 2019. During their active years, Brian served as the Band’s Webmaster and the Chapter’s Historian. They began playing in the Marist Symphonic, Marching, & Pep Bands as a flutist but continued by learning tuba and sousaphone in later years. Brian was elected as a Secretary-Treasurer onto the NED Council in 2016. They also graduated that year with a B.S. in Computer Science & Applied Mathematics. Brian currently works as a Client Account Manager for Bluemark, LLC, a software development company that specializes in productivity tools for healthcare professionals and community based organizations. They provide educational training workshops, monitor support lines, and resolve clients’ problems in order to meet their business’ needs. Brian spends the remaining slice of their time playing video games, jamming out to music, or watching tv. They currently reside in Kingston, New York with their partner, Chris, and three fur kids: Asuna, Gotham, & Katniss.
Monika was initiated into the Epsilon Sigma chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at Norfolk State University the Spring 2011, during her junior year of undergrad. She graduated in May 2012 and became a Life member a few months later. While pursuing her Master’s degree at Virginia Tech, she was made an Honorary member of the Zeta Omicron chapter, where she eventually became an active member.
During her active years, Monika served as the Epsilon Sigma chapter Vice President of Special Projects, Historian, and was a member of the fundraising and service project committees with Zeta Omicron. On a district level, she was the 2014-2015 Northeast District Vice President of Special Projects.
Monika graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Assurance from Norfolk State University and also graduated with her Master’s in Computer Science/ Human Computer Interaction from Virginia Tech. She currently works as a Software Engineer in Northern Virginia. She also owns an all handmade crochet business, Phoenix’s Crochet and Design.
Steph Taboada is a Life Member from the Zeta Upsilon chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at West Chester University. Initiated in the Fall of 2014, Steph served as Vice President of Service (2015-2017) and Historian/Alumni Liaison (Fall 2017) for ZY, and Vice President for Special Projects (2017-2018) on the Northeast District Council. Most recently, Steph served as the NEDAA Secretary (2022-2023) and is currently the NEDAA Programs Committee Co-Chair and NEDAA Parliamentarian. During her time at WCU, Steph played alto saxophone in the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band including serving as Saxophone Section Leader for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Steph also played alto saxophone in the Sixth Man Basketball Band, clarinet and alto saxophone in the Concert Band, and participated in the Women’s Choir on the off seasons.
Steph graduated from WCU with a BA in Psychology and minor in Deaf Studies. In 2021, Steph earned an MS in Community and Trauma Counseling from Jefferson University. In 2023, Steph earned an MA in Forensic and Legal Psychology from Marymount University. Currently, Steph works at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Alexandria, VA where she works with various agencies across the country to find and help missing and exploited children. In her spare time, Steph likes spending time with her cat, Boots, binging her favorite comfort shows and catching the Phillies baseball games.
Julia Tordo is a Life Member of the Eta Gamma chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at Boston University. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and Women, Gender and Sexuality in 2019. She is a developmental therapist for infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities.
Julia continues to be engaged as an alumni, serving on District Alumni Association committees, and attending District and National events on a regular basis.
Julia is enthusiastic about travel, crafting, plants, and puzzles. She loves her cat, Gus, her biological and found families, and exploring Los Angeles, where she lives.
Amber Tubbs is a life member of the Iota Psi chapter at Kennesaw State University. She was initiated in the “Gallant Gamma” line in the Fall of 2016. While she was active in the chapter she served in various leadership roles including: Parliamentarian, Corresponding Secretary, and President. Throughout her college career she was a member of the “Marching Owls” and played percussion in University Band. In 2020 she graduated with a degree in History Education and currently teaches 8th grade Georgia Studies. Upon graduating, she has remained active as an alumni. In 2021 she became Finance Chair of the Southeast District Alumni Association. That same year, she also helped establish the Iota Psi Alumni Association where she serves as Communications Chair.

Chelsea Zuniga is a Life Member of the Alpha Chapter at Oklahoma State University. As an active, she served her chapter as Treasurer and President. Currently, she serves on the National Curriculum Committee, on the Southwest District Alumni Association Board of Directors, and on the newly established Alpha Chapter Alumni Association Board of Directors.
She received her Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education from Oklahoma State University. Residing in Tulsa, OK, Chelsea enjoys taking care of her three cats, Cricket, Junior, and Harley, tending to her plants, spending time with her siblings, and traveling for sorority and professional development events.
